What is Apple Schools?
APPLE Schools works with vulnerable school communities to make kids healthier for life
APPLE Schools is an innovative school-focused health promotion initiative. It impacts the lives of more 33,000 students annually in over 100 schools across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario by improving their lifelong eating, physical activity, and mental health habits.

Award-winning Project
APPLE Schools is a recognized, award-winning organization.
It has been selected as a global top 100 education innovation by HundrED based on its ability to create scalable impact three times, in 2020, 2023 and for 2024. In 2017, the organization was awarded the Board Award of Excellence from the Fort McMurray Public School district, and the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Friends of Education award from Northland School Division for successfully championing healthy schools. Most recently, APPLE Schools was honoured to receive the provincial ASBA Friends of Education award.
The project is guided by the Board of Directors, of The APPLE Schools Foundation, which is a registered charitable foundation.

Land Acknowledgement
Our work takes place on traditional Indigenous territories across Turtle Island, the land now known as Canada. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet and work on these territories and recognize the enduring presence of Indigenous Peoples on this land.
Our head office is located in Edmonton, within Treaty 6 Territory. We acknowledge this land as the traditional territories of many First Nations such as Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot). It is also the homeland of the Métis Nation – Region 4 and is the home and traditional lands of many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples not recognized by Treaty.
